Roles: Mom & Teen Son

MOM Female (40–50)

TEEN SON Male (13-15)

SCENE: “COMFORTING SON”

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

Mom: tell us one thing you love doing with your child / family.
Teen Son: tell us one thing you like to do when you need to relax or feel better.

Scene 1: The Shade Moment
Mom is in her teen son’s room during the day. She closes the blinds/curtains, almost like she is dimming the world and making the room feel safer and quieter. If you have a shade, blind, or curtain, please use it. If not, you can mime the action.

Scene 2: Comfort Moment
After the room is dimmed, the teen son leans into his mom. Mom should receive him gently — quiet, protective, steady.  Teen son should allow himself to soften into her, like he is finally letting himself fall apart. Keep it tender, natural, and understated. No need for big crying or dialogue. The feeling is: I’m here. You’re safe. You can let go.

Optional:  Film a simple close-up of Mom’s and Boy’s expressions.

Role: CAITLIN Female (25–35)

SCENE: “EATING ICECREAM AT MIDNIGHT OVER THE KITCHEN SINK”

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

  • Tell us about your two favorite hobbies and  a bit about yourself

  • In the scene, Caitlin takes ice cream out of the freezer and opens it up, eating over the sink with a spoon. Just as she’s about to dig in, she closes the blinds above her sink (so no one see’s). This is funny in how honest it is, how we sometimes need to do embarrassing things in private. (Think, drinking out of the milk carton when no one is around style thing). Action: would love 3-4 versions of this action (doesn’t need to be icecream, could be any snack), and 3-4 different expressions.

Role: JEANE Female (25–35)

SCENE: “GETTING TIGHT JEANS ON and DANCER ”

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

Please tape a short improvised moment where Jeane is trying to get into a pair of very tight jeans.

Tone: Funny, physical, specific, human. This should feel real and character-driven, not like a broad comedy sketch. We want to see Jeane’s personality through the action: her determination, frustration, humor, confidence, and physicality.

A few possible beats to explore:

  • Jeane is committed to making these jeans work.

  • She has a sense of humor about the struggle.

  • She may hop, tug, shimmy, breathe in, negotiate with herself, or celebrate small victories.

  • The comedy should come from truth and specificity, not overacting.

This can be around 30–45 seconds. Please wear whatever you are comfortable in. You do not need to change clothes on camera or reveal anything. You can simulate the action safely and modestly.

Scene 2: Dancer Moment

Please include a short dance moment that shows Jeane’s movement, rhythm, and confidence. This does not need to be a polished choreography routine unless you want it to be. We are more interested in energy, freedom, musicality, and personality. Tone:  Expressive, playful, confident, alive.

A few notes:

  • Let the dance feel connected to Jeane’s character.

  • It can be funny, joyful, or unexpected — whatever feels right to you.

  • We want to see how you move and how much story you can tell physically.

  • Choose music that helps you feel comfortable and expressive.

Overall note: For Jeane, we’re looking for someone with strong physical presence, humor, and personality. The tape should feel loose, specific, and fun — like we’re watching a real person in a very relatable, slightly ridiculous moment..

Scene 1: Party Surprise Moment

You are walking into what you think is a normal room / gathering — but suddenly realize people have planned a surprise for you. Please play the moment of being surprised at a party. A few beats to explore:

  • You enter casually, not expecting anything.

  • You register the surprise.

  • You are caught off guard — maybe embarrassed, moved, laughing, overwhelmed, or speechless.

  • You take in the people around you.

  • The moment should feel real and human, not broad or fake.

  • Let us see the surprise land emotionally.

Role: NOAH, Male (30–45)

BABY (this will be a doll)

SCENE: “NURSERY / ‘FOR THE BABY’”

  • Slate

  •  Name / Location

  •  Hand slate

  • Introduce yourselves — close up to camera. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Any experience with babies in your life?

Scene 1: Nursery Moment
Dad is in the nursery with the baby. The feeling is quiet, loving, and intimate — a parent making a room feel safe, soft, and ready. Please film a short improvised moment of Dad with the baby (use a pillow or prop at the baby) in the nursery or baby’s room.

A few possible actions:

  • Dad gently holds or rocks the baby.

  • Bobs the baby up and down pacing the room singing

  • Dad has a quiet private moment of wonder, love, or nerves.

Scene 2: Baby Interaction
Please capture a natural moment between Dad and baby. This can be:

  • making the baby smile

  • soothing the baby

  • playing peekaboo

  • gently bouncing or rocking

  • talking softly to the baby

  • sharing a sweet, funny, or calm moment

Keep it real and unforced. We are looking for warmth, tenderness, and natural connection.

Optional: If you have curtains or a shade in the nursery, film Dad opening or closing them, then looking back at the baby — as if he is shaping the room around the baby’s comfort.

Roles: Couple LALA & LUKE  (25–35)

LALA (WIFE) Female (25–35)

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

  • Are you okay with taking off a shirt, filmed from behind, only showing bare back?

  • Tell us about your two favorite hobbies and a bit about yourself

Scene 1: Dancing in the Kitchen with Luke

This is a romantic, sweet, lived-in moment between Lala and her husband, Luke. Please tape a short improvised moment where Lala and Luke are dancing together in the kitchen.

Tone: Romantic, playful, intimate, easy.

Think less “performed dance” and more “two people who know each other deeply.” It should feel casual and real — like music is playing while dinner is being made, or they are having a quiet private moment at home. You can use a reader/scene partner if available, but it is also okay to imagine Luke just off-camera. We are looking for softness, chemistry, warmth, humor, and comfort in your body.

A few possible beats to explore:

  • Lala is relaxed and happy with Luke.

  • She teases him or laughs with him.

  • The romance is gentle, not overly sexy or staged.

Scene 2: Taking Off Shirt / Intimate Moment

In the later scene, Luke is sitting in an armchair by a window, reading. Lala enters the frame. She quietly takes off her shirt, filmed from behind, showing only her bare back. For the self-tape, please do not feel obligated to fully remove your shirt unless you are completely comfortable doing so.

You may choose one of these options:

  • Simulate the action while wearing a tank top, camisole, or backless top.

  • Wear a loose shirt over a tank and remove only the outer layer.

  • Frame the shot from behind and stop before any nudity.

  • What matters most is the emotional tone, not exposure.

The feeling should be intimate, quiet, and vulnerable — not performative. Lala is not “seducing” in a clichéd way. She is sharing herself with her husband. It should feel natural, tender, and private.

LUKE (HUSBAND) Male (25–35)

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

  • Tell us about your two favorite hobbies and a bit about yourself

Scene 1: Dancing in the Kitchen with Lala

This is a romantic, sweet, lived-in moment between Luke and his wife, Lala. Please tape a short improvised moment where Luke and Lala are dancing together in the kitchen. Tone:  Romantic, playful, intimate, easy.

This should not feel like a formal dance or a big “romantic scene.” It should feel like a private moment at home between two people who know each other deeply. Maybe music is playing while dinner is being made. Maybe Luke pulls Lala into a dance. Maybe she pulls him in. The important thing is that it feels natural, warm, and full of history. We are looking for softness, humor, chemistry, and comfort.

A few possible beats to explore:

  • Luke is relaxed and happy with Lala.

  • He adores her without needing to announce it.

  • He may be playful, teasing, or a little bashful.

  • He spins/twirls her outward and pull her back in

You can use a reader/scene partner if available.

Scene 2: Reading in the Armchair / Lala Enters

In the later scene, Luke is sitting in an armchair by a window, reading. Lala enters the frame. She quietly takes off her shirt, filmed from behind, showing only her bare back. For Luke’s tape, we do not need to see Lala undress. Please focus on Luke’s experience of the moment. You can stage this simply: Luke is reading in a chair. He hears or senses Lala enter. He looks up. The moment shifts. The feeling should be intimate, quiet, and vulnerable — not performative. Luke is not leering or reacting in an obvious way. He is receiving a private invitation from the person he loves.

A few emotional notes:

  • Luke is absorbed in his book at first.

  • He senses Lala before fully understanding what is happening.

  • When he looks up, there is recognition, tenderness, and desire.

  • His reaction should feel loving, respectful, and deeply familiar.

This can be 20–40 seconds.

Important tone note

Luke’s intimacy with Lala should feel emotionally grounded. We are looking for a man who loves his wife, feels safe with her, and shares a quiet, private world with her. The scene should feel romantic and human, not staged or overly sensual.

Roles: Couple Becca & Bobby (25–35)

BECCA (GIRLFRIEND) Female (25–35)

BOBBY (BOYFRIEND) Male (25–35)

SCENE: “BREAK UP / MAKE UP”

  • Slate

  • Name / Location

  • Hand slate

  • Introduce yourselves — close up to camera. Tell us a little bit about yourselves and, if taping together, how you know each other.

Scene 1: Bedroom / Break Up Moment
Bobby and Becca sit apart in a bedroom. Close, but not touching. The blinds are fully closed. The light is flat. This is the end of a hard conversation. There is nothing left to say that hasn’t already been said. Please play a quiet, emotional break-up moment without much dialogue. The feeling should be restrained, real, and intimate — not overly dramatic.

A few beats to explore:

  • Bobby and Becca are close physically, but emotionally distant.

  • They both still care, but something has broken.

  • There may be silence, a glance, a small movement away.

  • One of them may want to say something, but can’t.

  • Let the closed blinds make the room feel heavy and final.

If you have blinds, curtains, or shades, please film with them closed. If not, just create a still, quiet bedroom setup.

Scene 2: Different Day / The Message

Bobby is alone in his bedroom. His phone lights up with a new message: LOOK OUTSIDE. He picks it up. Reads it. Something shifts. Bobby opens the curtain and sees Becca outside holding flowers. Please play Bobby’s reaction to receiving the message and opening the curtain. We do not need to see the phone screen perfectly — you can simply act the moment.

The feeling should be hopeful, surprised, and tender. Not huge or cheesy — just the first moment where Bobby realizes maybe this isn’t over.

Scene 3: Becca Outside with Flowers
Becca is holding flowers. Please film a short moment of Becca waiting. She is nervous, hopeful, vulnerable, and brave. Then she smiles and shrugs, sweet, kind of funny. Apologetic. Rom-com.

A few beats to explore:

  • She may smile, laugh nervously, or hold back emotion.

  • The flowers should feel sincere, not like a grand performance.

  • The feeling is: I’m here. I want to try again.

Optional: If you are taping together, include one final beat where Bobby and Becca hug. Keep it simple, romantic, and honest. Tone: quiet, emotional, tender, hopeful.
